Subtle Electrical Signaling in Health and Medicine
Stem Cells, Extreme Dilutions and Medicines
By Roger Barr (with research help from ChatGPT)
Homeopathy is controversial and mostly rejected by mainstream scientists because they claim that it is antithetical to known tenants of physics and biology. But even mainstream medicine is on thin ice. Adherents of the Mechanistic Paradigm of life cannot begin to provide a mechanism for Consciousness. And important questions remain regarding how substances exert profound mental-emotional effects despite the protective role of the blood-brain barrier which limits or may even prevent them from entering. Nearly all pharmaceuticals list characteristic psychological or emotional side effects, suggesting pathways of influence that are not always fully understood within strictly reductionist models. As Dr Hahnemann wrote, all medicines as well as all diseases affect the mind and body.
Contextual Framework
Before proceeding into the broader discussion, it is important to first consider several accepted scientific explanations for how substances may influence mental and emotional states despite the protective function of the blood-brain barrier. This framework provides important context for the discussion that follows regarding mechanism, consciousness, and the possible ways substances may exert effects beyond strictly localized material interactions.
Some substances are highly lipid-soluble and readily cross the blood-brain barrier through cellular membranes. Others gain entry because of their extremely small molecular size or through molecular mimicry, utilizing carrier systems intended for essential nutrients. Medications such as steroids, beta-blockers, and L-DOPA are well known to produce characteristic mental-emotional side effects through these mechanisms.
In addition, not all neurological or emotional effects require a substance to directly enter the brain itself. The gut-brain axis, hormonal influences, systemic inflammation, immune signaling, and alterations in microbiota may also influence cognition, mood, and emotional functioning through indirect pathways (for further details see Notes below).
Taken together, these mechanisms demonstrate that modern biology already recognizes multiple pathways through which substances may exert significant mental and emotional effects, including pathways that are indirect, systemic, or only partially understood. This broader scientific context is relevant to the discussion that follows concerning mechanism, consciousness, and possible modes of action in homeopathy and related energetic models of medicine.
Bioelectric Patterning, DNA and Epigenetics
Scientists have discovered bioelectric patterning or signaling that one might call a form of biological inheritance beyond DNA whereby a subtle electrical field controls the creation and expression of new stem cells and the organization of the body as it develops. They have even been able to create two headed Planaria worms that pass the trait to their offspring without a DNA change. Planaria can store “memory” of the body pattern outside DNA. These memories may persist through regeneration and behave like inheritance. The mechanism is thought to include: bioelectric states, epigenetics and neural and physiological memory. Stem cells (neoblasts) are influenced by signals from surrounding tissue, including electrical signals. Gap junctions (electrical connections between cells) can store stable states like memory. Their hypothesis is that there are three interacting layers:
Genetics (DNA) – hardware
Epigenetics – gene regulation
Bioelectric networks – large-scale pattern control
These bioelectric signals:
arise from ion channels and voltage gradients
propagate through gap junctions
coordinate stem cell behavior and anatomy
Thus bioelectric states can act as a top-down control system for anatomy [1][2] [3]
An article by Rupert Sheldrake, “The Genome Wager”, referenced below, discusses the concept of the Morphogenetic Field which seems similar - an energy field that directs the growth and other characteristics of entities, living and even inanimate.
While bioelectric signaling work has not yet been reproduced in complex animals like mammals or other species, it seems logical that such a low-level biological mechanism must apply to other species. As Rupert Sheldrake claims, there likely isn’t enough “raw data” in chromosomes to control the production, differentiation and complex development of stem cells into a fully formed individual, nor its repair in the case of injury. [4] So it appears likely that a morphogenetic field, possibly in the form of bioelectric signaling (at least partially), must be present directing the formation, differentiation and location of stem cells in more complex animals including humans. Another article on Sheldrake’s work can be found here. [5]
Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier et al. have shown that a method of extreme dilutions creates a very subtle electrical field in water that has none of the substance remaining. Electromagnetic signals recorded from DNA solutions can induce structures in pure water that allow PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) amplification of DNA sequences without the original template. This suggests DNA “information” can be transmitted via EM signals. But this certainly doesn’t rule out that other forms of information can be transmitted in water via EM signals. These results have not been independently replicated by mainstream labs and some speculate that the results were due to contamination of the reagents.[6] Montagnier was roundly derided because it sounds too much like homeopathy. Homeopathic remedies are created by a process called potentization that involves extreme dilutions.
Cavitation & The LeClaire Effect
A physicist, LeClaire, has determined that cavitation of water against the vessel walls causes cold fusion. He is reproducing what Ponds & Fleischman discovered but he has determined the physics behind it and made it reproducible. This process generates mineral elements (and other unknown effects?) and creates zero-point energy. He made a presentation at Physics, Chemistry & Biology of Water Conference (2012). He claimed cavitation creates “crystalline water jets” that form under extreme pressure during bubble collapse and persist for microseconds. The claimed effects are fusion and fission in water, “zero-point energy extraction” and elemental transmutation across the periodic table.[7] Referenced below is a talk by LeClaire about the LeClaire Effect with his explanation of the physics. [8] .
Perhaps this explains how extreme dilutions create a subtle electrical field in water and the power of potentization. Fortuitously, I saw this article, “This Liquid Snapped…” [9] Another indication that the physics of fluids is not completely understood. To quote from this article:
“What Causes Liquids to Break
The team plans to continue studying this phenomenon to understand the underlying physics. Early evidence suggests it may be related to cavitation — a process in which tiny vapor bubbles form and collapse rapidly, sending shockwaves through the liquid.”
So, I believe that combining homeopathy with stem cell therapy may dramatically improve the effectiveness of both. The subtle electrical energy of the homeopathic remedies may help direct the body’s production and organization of stem cells, individualizing it for the patient to speed the healing process.
Conventional Medicine & Bad Homeopathy
Personally, it is my contention that conventional medicine is practicing bad homeopathy. Every one of conventional medicine's drugs has side effects that match the indications for which the drug is prescribed. Aspirin, ibuprofen & acetaminophen can cause fever and headaches. Ritalin is an “upper” that causes ADHD type symptoms like those it is used to manage. Radiation & chemotherapy drugs can cause and sometimes cure cancer. SSRI’s and other antidepressants can cause depression and homicidal & suicidal ideation. Budesinide, an asthma inhaler, can cause "paradoxical bronchospasms". etc. etc. It’s only a paradox if one doesn’t understand homeopathy! This is true for the top 500 drugs used by conventional medicine that I have investigated so far, no exceptions. Conventional medicine is practicing bad homeopathy, temporarily suppressing or palliating a few symptoms with their prescriptions exactly as does a “homeopathic” remedy that doesn’t match the patient’s symptoms well.
If they prescribed the same drugs even in material doses, according to homeopathic protocol matching the totality of the drugs to the totality of the patient - mentally, emotionally and physically - they would be curative of the individual’s totality just as homeopathy is. Dr Hahnemann practiced homeopathy for 30 years using undiluted substances with great success before he started diluting them. The blood brain barrier prevents most drugs from entering the brain, but mental-emotional “side effects” (i.e. effects) are apparent for All drugs. Perhaps the subtle bioelectric signaling explains how all medicines can also affect the mind and emotions. I refer to the following article on my website:
How Medicines Work, Both Homeopathic and Conventional
I have a recommendation for the pharmaceutical industry. If they want to develop new drugs without spending a fortune as they do, they should just do a search for the symptom(s) they want to palliate or suppress in the side effects of all the drugs that are currently prescribed. Of course, there is no money in repurposing old drugs because the only real money is in newly patented drugs. Another way they could reduce costs is to hire homeopaths to conduct provings with the drugs they are developing! A win-win for homeopathy and the pharma industry!
Homeopathy has supposedly been debunked by “well-designed studies”. But well-designed studies are in the eye of the beholder. A Lancet meta-analysis in 2005 that said homeopathy was ineffective used a total of 8 studies. [10] A Lancet meta-analysis in 1997 used 89 studies and found that it was effective but had not been adequately proven effective for any single condition.[11]
Homeopathy has been accused of being merely placebo. But placebo has been found to mostly be useful only while taking it, and for conditions with a large psychological component like pain. As ChatGPT summarizes placebo research:
Placebo effects are strongest for subjective symptoms (pain, mood)
Effects on objective disease processes are limited or inconsistent
Brain changes are real—but often small and variable across studies
Meanwhile homeopathy has 220 years of robust well-documented literature showing that it is effective in acute and even so-called incurable chronic diseases, with long term cures i.e. long after the remedy was stopped.
Summation
In summary, subtle bioelectric signaling has been found to be part of the control mechanism for the differentiation and expression of stem cells, which DNA can't explain. This subtle bioelectric signaling might explain how all medicines work, even across the blood brain barrier. The process of extreme dilutions with succussion has been found to produce subtle EMF signals in water. Succussion of remedies may cause cavitation in water. The micro bubbles that form and collapse during cavitation trigger cold fusion and the generation of zero point energy. This is possibly generating the EMF signal stored in the remedy.
Notes:
1. High Lipid Solubility: Fat-soluble molecules dissolve easily through the barrier's cell membranes. Many everyday medications are designed to be fat-soluble.Examples include steroid medications like prednisone. These cross easily and often cause mood swings, anxiety, or insomnia.
2. Tiny Molecular Size: Small molecules pass through the barrier much more effectively. Many psychiatric drugs and beta-blockers are intentionally small. Propranolol (a blood pressure drug) crosses easily due to its size and fat solubility. This frequently results in vivid dreams or fatigue.
3. Molecular Mimicry: The brain must let in essential nutrients like glucose and amino acids. It uses special "carrier proteins" to pull these nutrients inside. Some drugs trick these carriers by mimicking natural nutrients. L-DOPA (for Parkinson's) uses this exact pathway to enter. Once inside, it can cause hallucinations or confusion as a side effect.
4. The Gut-Brain Axis: Some drugs never actually enter the brain. They alter chemicals or bacteria in your digestive system instead. The gut communicates directly with the brain via the vagus nerve. Antibiotics can alter gut microbes, indirectly triggering anxiety or brain fog.
5. Systemic Inflammation: Certain drugs cause inflammation or immune responses in the body. Inflammatory chemicals circulate in the blood. These chemicals can weaken the blood-brain barrier temporarily. They can also trigger "sickness behavior" in the brain, causing depression or lethargy.
