Guest Editorial: Dr. Jayesh Dhingreja
I was very much delighted when Richard Pitt asked me to guest edit this issue of The California Homeopath. I would sincerely like to thank Dr. Farokh Master and Richard Pitt for giving me this opportunity. The theme of this issue is Mother and Child. In this issue of the journal we have tried to cover various scenarios related to the health of Mother and child and its homeopathic and auxiliary management.
“FOR THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE, IS THE HAND THAT RULES THE WORLD” –W. E. ROSS, THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE
“MEN ARE WHAT THEIR MOTHERS MADE THEM” – EMERSON
I was always fascinated by such quotations and the complex relationship between the mother and the child. In the essay written by me, I have highlighted effects of this complex relationship on the health of the child and how, as homeopaths, by a thorough anamnesis, we can cure and prevent diseases in children. I have further given two case examples to highlight this relationship and how we can use the state of the mother during pregnancy to find the correct remedy for the child.
Remedy differentiation especially between two similar looking remedies has always been quite a difficult task for homeopaths. In the next essay, Dr. Farhad J. Adajania, gives a very candid and clinical differentiation between Chamomilla and Cina.
Following this, Dr. Ramesh Bajaj, a senior Pediatrician practicing in Mumbai, writes about a very common condition in infants up to three months of age, “Evening Colic”. In the article, he has tried to give a thorough understanding of this disturbing condition.
Further, Dr. Aditya Tiwari, a practicing Homeopathic Psychiatrist, writes “How to talk to children”. Here he gives various ways of how adults should successfully communicate with children and help in forming a good relationship with them.
Finally, Dr. Silloo D. Patel, a practicing Homeopathic Physician and Dietician, writes about “Importance of Omega 3 essential fatty acid in pregnancy”. This article wonderfully highlights the importance of Omega 3 essential fatty acid in the diet of a pregnant woman and how its deficiency can affect both the mother and her child.
Finally, I would like to thank all the contributors for sharing their valuable time and knowledge with the readers of this journal. In this issue, we have tried to give the best to the readers as regards to the homeopathic as well as general management of Mother and Child. I hope the readers will enjoy and appreciate the effort.
Thank you.
