Archival Library

This archival library hosts the initial collection of the California Homeopath published from 1883 to 1892. After an exhaustive search, Volumes 2 (1884) through 10 (1892) were retrieved from the Hathi Trust at the University of Michigan (Volume 1 is missing from the collection). We gratefully acknowledge the effort of Hathi Trust and their collaborative mission: “To contribute to research, scholarship and the common good by collaboratively collecting, organizing, preserving, communicating, and sharing the record of human knowledge.”

Each of the nine volumes below were published over the course of a year. Each volume represents 5 to 12 issues per year ranging from 226 to 505 pages. The full publication is able to be accessed and viewed by clicking on the individual links.

When republishing, we realized the monumental task of sifting through the volumes for our readers. An index with curated highlights reflects articles with both clinical and historical interest in a time of growth and development of homeopathy in California. After 1892, the journal changed its name to the Pacific Coast Journal of Homeopathy to reflect the growth of homeopathy on the whole Pacific coast, including Oregon and Washington State.
